About Me

Hi! I’m Xiaobo Lin, a Ph.D. candidate in Quant Marketing at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University. I’m currently on the 2025–2026 academic job market.

My research focuses on two interconnected areas: (1) the marketing–finance interface, which examines how marketing actions affect firm value and investor response, and (2) digital marketing strategy, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) applications and social media communication. Methodologically, I work with large-scale datasets and use a combination of econometrics, machine learning (e.g., natural language processing and computer vision), and analytical modeling. I particularly enjoy applying mixed methods to tackle important marketing problems with theoretical rigor and managerial relevance.

Teaching is also a core part of my academic identity. I have independently taught Essentials of Marketing and served as a TA for several other marketing courses.
